What is Hyperliquid?

Hyperliquid is a layer-1 network built for trading: its main product is a decentralized exchange with an order book recorded on the blockchain itself, focused on perpetual futures and spot markets.

The HYPE token was distributed on November 29, 2024 through an airdrop to platform users, with no sale to investment funds.

How Hyperliquid works

The network uses its own consensus, HyperBFT, in which validators with staked HYPE confirm blocks in under a second. Orders, cancellations and liquidations are all processed on chain.

Beyond the trading core, there is an environment compatible with Ethereum applications, HyperEVM, where HYPE pays fees. Part of trading revenue is used to buy the token back in the market.
