What is Render?
Render Network was conceived by Jules Urbach, founder of the computer graphics company OTOY, and held its initial token sale in 2017.
The token began on Ethereum with the ticker RNDR. In 2023, the community approved migration to the Solana network under the new ticker RENDER.
How Render works
Those who need processing submit a job and pay in tokens. Operators with graphics cards perform the task and are paid for the service once the result is verified.
The economic model combines burning and issuance: tokens used to pay for jobs are burned, and new tokens are issued to reward operators, in an amount set by governance.
What RENDER is used for
- Paying for 3D rendering and AI compute.
- Rewarding graphics card operators.
- Voting on network proposals.
Risks and points of attention
- Real demand for the service needs to grow to sustain the token's value.
- Competition from traditional cloud providers and other decentralized compute networks.
- A price highly sensitive to market interest in artificial intelligence.
- Anyone still holding the old RNDR token needs to migrate.

Frequently asked questions about Render
Are RNDR and RENDER the same token?
RENDER is the current version, on Solana. RNDR is the old version, on Ethereum, which can be converted through the official migration portal.
What is rendering?
It is the computational process of generating images and video from 3D models, which demands a lot of graphics card power.
Is Render an AI project?
The network was born for 3D rendering and expanded to artificial intelligence tasks that rely on the same kind of hardware.
